    dad-isms:

In a job interview, don’t describe yourself as a good ‘multi-tasker’.  Most of the ‘multi-tasking’ people I have met in my life aren’t detail oriented, they are busy-bodies.
As you know, details matter in most everything.
When given the choice, most employers would rather have the job done right, then have the job worked on with multiple loose ends they will discover later at some inopportune time.
Better to tell them, “I would regard myself as a detailed person that when given a task, sees it through until the end”

    (Question from wetalk)

I talked about this once before, but to recap: I want them to learn balance in their life. Not physical balance because, judging from the bruises on my boys’ heads and legs, that’s asking for the moon. I mean the ability to give the correct response or reaction to the situation at hand. Basically, I don’t want them to inherit my “scorched earth” tactic of ending relationships.

They say there are no stupid questions. Don’t prove them wrong.

This is just fantastic.  Thanks, thedaddycomplex!

    dad-isms:

When ironing, use a spray bottle of water to help smooth out wrinkles. Never ever use spray starch. Starch is a form of glue and I don’t know anyone that would squirt “Elmer’s” on their clothes and expect them to look and feel good over time
